YAZOO BREW: MUSICAL SHORT FILM & TV COMMERCIAL
The Yazoo project began when Davis was living in São Paulo, Brazil in 2005. The year before the move, Yazoo Brewery had opened up in his hometown of Nashville, TN. Missing the brewery and all his buddies, Davis rocked in a hammock and wrote out an idea for when he returned to Nashville. The plan was for nine friends to show up unannounced at Yazoo in suits and hats as a singing nonet to praise the brewery and brewmaster and then leave.
Cut to Nashville: Davis & eight friends with sides in their hands, rehearsing the evening, which read like a film. One friend says later in the night, “what are we doing, you’re a filmmaker, let’s make this a film!” Cut to signing contract with Yazoo owner: Davis & his crew made a media package of a musical short film, TV spot and 2 radio commercials for the Yazoo Brewery. A wonderful result born out of living far from home, missing good beer and good friends.
